Sound Issues: Sounds from media files do not work

Recently, sounds from media files or YouTube stopped working. All other sounds like notifications from Pidgin, etc work normally.

Here is the output of VLC in a terminal when playing a video:

Deleting ~/.macromedia solved the issue for files on YouTube but playing media files locally still doesn't work. Thanks foir the partial fix though. smile

PS: Sorry for post on wrong board. Please move it to the appropriate Multimedia and Gaming board.

I solved the issue by uninstalling PulseAudio and its GNOMEis components completely.
