Giovanni Scafora : "Reason for closing: Won't implement."
Seems we need AUR package that provide gui.

I'm trying to make a PKGBUILD which only builds mmg, but that doesn't seem to work (or: I don't know how). The way I do it right now is, that all is being compiled, but in the end I only install mmg (and maybe some other files, have to check that). Wanna try it out? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49992
If anyone knows how to build only mmg, please let me know. Or maybe it's better to include all into this package and make it conflict with mkvtoolnix ... But I prefer having the gui separated, because in that case it's possible that updates don't have to come so often, the build process is a lot faster (if I manage to make it only build mmg) and the danger of breakage is a lot smaller, because you stay with mkvtoolnix from the official repos.

@Army: See the PKGBUILD of mkvtoolinux 4.8.0-2 from extra - http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/ … db2bf1ce53.
More information you may find in configure file from source archive.
You should correct depends: ('file' 'boost-libs' 'libmatroska' 'lzo2' 'expat' 'flac' 'libvorbis' 'wxgtk')
'rake' can be used instead of 'darke'. It not require mkvtoolnix.install script.
./configure --prefix=/usr \
--with-boost-libdir=/usr/lib
rake
}
package () {
cd "${srcdir}/${pkgname}-${pkgver}"
rake DESTDIR="${pkgdir}" install
}

1. That's for the qt gui. NOT the gtk gui.
2. If you look closely in the sources, there is NO qt gui for mkvmerge-mmg. ONLY for mminfo. So the gui they asked for in that bug report, does NOT exist.

@wantilles: now a package have not any GUI and we don't know plan Giovanni Scafora about this package.

@wantilles, you're wrong! There IS a gui for mkvmerge, which is called mmg. Check out my package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49992 which will give you a mmg executable
@unikum, I think I have to install some more files to make the install file necessary. I'm looking into it right now. Using drake or rake ... well these two executables aren't exactly the same, so I prefer to use that one which is included in the source. rake is included in the ruby package which is needed as a build-dependency anyway, so it doesn't matter. My depends line is correct so far, because I only build mmg, so I include mkvtoolnix into the depends line, which already depends on file etc.

I forgot a word in the above post.
There is NO qt gui for mkvmerge (aka mmg).
The qt gui exists only for mminfo.
So it is completely useless.

Ok, so let me correct: wantilles, you're RIGHT
BUT:
mkvtoolnix is a collection of some binary files, which include mmg and the gui for mkvinfo. Both can be called "guis of mkvtoolnix", so the title isn't wrong.
But that's not the point here.
