Same here, also the style, font, font size and all other input boxes are grayed out but things work. It's just a visual glitch, besides even if it was grayed out I would still click it to check if it worked (you never know if it will work ).

I think that it is a problem with GTK interface. I use oxygen-gtk but it doesn't work well.

It's working well here.
Using atolm-gtk3 (which also brings the matching gtk2 theme).
Does the search bar appear if you "detatch" it from the panel and make it float?

I have changed theme (to clearlooks) and indeed now it works as expected. As a bonus it also "fixes" some other minor annoyances I've detected.

I'm using XFCE so I went into Settings > Appearance and changed the theme.

Help. I am still having the same problem as "trapanator" even though I have switched gtk themes to ClearLook using "gtk-theme-switch2". No difference. Still missing find bar in LibreOffice. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
