PulseAudio was deleted and now YouTube has no sound

PulseAudio was installed with whole Gnome 3 and I deleted pulseaudio. Now YouTube has no sound in all brousers. Google search gives general solution - to install alsa-oss which is already installed. I also deleted ~/.macromedia dir as was suggested in some URLs. But still no luck. What should I do to restore YouTube sound?

P. S. Alsa is installed and configured, VLC and SMplayer have sound and have no problems with it.

UPD: Games like slimevolley also have no sound.

Pulse Audio is listed as a dependency of Gnome 3.  Remove it and you're going to have problems like this crop up.

you don't mention the browser that you use where this problem occurs...

EDIT: ok, you say all browsers, but still not really helpful.

Firefox, Chrome, Midori...
Tried to install the system to VirtualBox without Gnome and KDE and it seems PulseAudio is not needed this way. So I guess I'll have to reinstall Arch.

Check the "asound.conf" file in "/etc".

Re: PulseAudio was deleted and now YouTube has no sound

After getting rid of PulseAudio, I experienced issues with Flash and -- occasionally -- other sources. So, trying to resolve the problem, I created the asound.conf with the following content:

pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm {
        type dmix
        ipc_key 1024
        slave {
            pcm "hw:0,0"
            rate 44100
        }
    }
}

pcm.dmixout {
    type plug
    slave {
        pcm "dmix"
    }
}

-- and have never had any issues since. Of course, it's valid for my external USB sound card, but plenty of useful info can be found (as always) here and all around the web.
