Nimbus Mono L

Hi,

There must be a font package containing the subj. Is there a way to identify it?

Re: Nimbus Mono L

pkgfile from pkgtools package may help:

[karol@black ~]$ pkgfile startx
extra/xorg-xinit

Re: Nimbus Mono L

I got mine from ghostscript package. I don't know if there is another package for Nimbus fonts without ghostscript.

You're probably right, xamaco:

$ pacman -Ql ghostscript | grep imbus
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusMonL-Bold
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusMonL-BoldObli
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusMonL-Regu
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusMonL-ReguObli
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusRomNo9L-Medi
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusRomNo9L-MediItal
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusRomNo9L-Regu
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusRomNo9L-ReguItal
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-Bold
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-BoldCond
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-BoldCondItal
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-BoldItal
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-Regu
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-ReguCond
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-ReguCondItal
ghostscript /usr/share/ghostscript/9.02/Resource/Font/NimbusSanL-ReguItal

Unfortunately, something is broken there: right now KDE Font Installer doesn't see any Nimbus; on the other hand, Fontmatrix reports (on uncheking the Nimbus family) "Deactivation Error: Unable to unlink: /usr/share/fonts/Type1/n022003l.pfb..."

Reinstall of ghostscript won't help; recaching (fc-cache -vf) of the whole thing won't help either. Of course, Nimbus font is invisible and unusable sad .

Re: Nimbus Mono L

The fonts can also be found in gsfonts package, but only as names like n022003l.pfb, ... Maybe it can help you...

Re: Nimbus Mono L

Do you have Type 1 fonts disabled through an Xorg config rule?

The 'Nimbus Mono L' fonts that I have installed by the ghostscript package are:
    /usr/share/fonts/Type1/n022023l.pfb
    /usr/share/fonts/Type1/n022024l.pfb
    /usr/share/fonts/Type1/n022003l.pfb
    /usr/share/fonts/Type1/n022004l.pfb

What does fc-match return for the font now?

$ fc-match 'Nimbus Mono L'
n022003l.pfb: "Nimbus Mono L" "Regular"

Are there any rules concerning the font in /etc/fonts/conf.d?

$ grep -nRTi nimbus /etc/fonts/conf.d/*

Edit: fixed typo
