Issues installing Archlinux on Macbook 5,1 from a pen drive

Hello everybody,
I am trying to install Archlinux on my lil' old Macbook 5,1 (late 2008 aluminium).

Since I don't have the superdrive anymore I've burned the net isntall iso on a pen drive and I am trying to boot the install from there.

Problem is that refit keeps throwing me errors every time I try:

Starting legacy loader
Using load options 'USB'
Error: Not Found returned from legacy loader
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Not Found from LocateDev IcePath
Error: Load Error while (re)opening our installation volume

The firmware refused to boot from the selected volume. Note that external hard drives are not well-supported by Apple's firmware for legacy OS booting.

I've tried to boot from every usb port I have (just in case) but nothing changed.

I basically just want to single boot Archlinux and get rid of Mac OS so if you have some advice to share I am deeply interested.

Thank you!

How did you get the media on the drive?

Using dd like suggested on the wiki.

Anyway still have problems.
Meanwhile I tried to create a little partition and copyed the installation disk on it in order to boot from it but it fucked up my partition table.
