Arch Linux Server Problem

Hello everyone,

Alright, so I have Arch Linux installed on my Toshiba laptop. I wanted to test using a Linux box as a Minecraft Server. I have everything setup correctly. After I run the shell script to launch the server, everything seems to load fine, just like it did in Win 7 (I have Arch and Win 7 dual-booted). After I go to join the server on the host PC, and a different one, it hangs on 'Connecting to server'. Now, in Windows, it will log right into the server, on port 25565. On Arch, it hangs on 'Connecting to server'. I was wondering if Arch Linux blocks ports by default. This is probably a stupid question, hence the category, but Google couldn't help me this time. By the way, here is the guide I followed to setup my server:

http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server#Linux .

I know I have my ports forwarded. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Arch Linux Server Problem

zmpetro, could you please edit your topic title to reflect that it's a Minecraft server problem?

Arch doesn't block any ports by default.

Re: Arch Linux Server Problem

Does anything interesting appear in the Minecraft server's output? I am running a Minecraft server just fine and it was literally just a case of downloading the jar, making a server.properties file, and running the jar. No extra configuration was done.

First of all, sorry for the late reply. And lastly, this thread should be moved to "The stupidest computer mistake you have ever made." Sorry guys.
