Hi everyone,
I have searched for days to solve this problem, but with no luck. one month ago , i bought 2 lenovo laptops of different model, one for work and one for home. I removed preinstalled windows, and installed arch on my work laptop and mandriva on my home laptop. Then I met the sound problem. In windows the sound is ok and loud , but in linux the sound was so low that i can barely hear it even i set the sound volumn to max. I have always checked alsamixer (all the channels are in max volume).
at first, i thought it is a hardware compatible problem. but one day i slept my arch for lunch, and when i got back and resumed arch, i found the sound become normal status just like in windows. after i reboot, the sound turn to very low again.
so these days, everytime i started my laotop, the first thing i do is sleep & resume to make the sound ok. this is driving me crazy, can anybody tell me how to fix it?
if this can help :
both laptops use idt92hd81x for sound codec , snd_hda_intel for sound driver.
i really don't know how sleep & resume can make things right? i guess it may be some configuration error.
Thanks in advance for all your help, and sorry for my very bad english.
