Firefox 5, Thunderbird 5, SCIM - no Chinese Input

Since the last update to Firefox 5 and Thunderbird 5 both applications refuse to work with SCIM.
Anybody knows how to solve?

There was a bug about SCIM not working in Firefox 4 and I don't think the bug has been solved yet:

I don't think SCIM has been actively maintained any longer, better change to iBus as default input method for chinese.

edit firefox's startup script, adding lines bellow would do the trick.  confused, which one on earth has problem?

add after moz_libdir=/usr/local/lib/firefox-2.0

XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
GTK_IM_MODULE=scim-bridge
export XMODIFIERS GTK_IM_MODULE

save and reopen firefox. no conflicts.

works for firefox 5 and 6
