Gnome 3 - edit command that opens a favorites application

Is there anyway to edit the command behind an app you have on your favorites dock? I use zsh as my shell and adding an alias to my zshrc didn't seem to do the trick.

That being said - what is the underlying shell of 'Alt + F2' -- can't seem to find this answer out online. I t won't work with aliases in my zshrc either =/

Re: Gnome 3 - edit command that opens a favorites application

Go to

/usr/share/applications

and edit the .desktop file. The exec line is the actual command to change. You can also just copy it to ~/.local/share/applications/whatever.desktop and change just for your user.
