Openswan 2.3.1 is now in the AUR. This is user-space only, and requires the IPSec stack included in 2.6.x kernels. The stock Arch kernel includes the required modules.
The kernel IPSec stack does not implement KLIPS functionality i.e. ipsecX virtual interfaces. The Openswan source includes code for a KLIPS module, which can be used as an alternative to the kernel stack. Please note that this PKGBUILD does not build the KLIPS module.
Please post here if a KLIPS-enabled version is required.
