DE Question.

Evening.  I'm currently looking to have Enlightenment installed as my DE, and some questions arose and hopefully can be answered.

I'm going ahead and throwing out there that I'm not scared of the command line, but please forgive me due to being new to things.  I've toyed with some of the buntu family, Suse, PCLinuxOS, and a couple of others and though I'm no expert, I'm not scared either.

With that being said.  I was looking at http://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=download&l=en

At the bottom, there is a tar.gz link.  Could I use this to use Pacman according the manual and use that download to install the DE.  Just wanted to make sure I'm reading everything correctly before i take the plunge.

Thanks guys and gals.

Re: DE Question.

Enlightenment is in the Arch repos: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Enlightenment

You would be well advised to avoid building and installing packages yourself as it means that pacman will not be able to track them.

Read the Wiki, particularly the Beginners' Guide and then any pages relevant to the sort of environment you would like to set up. Arch is extraordinarily well documented, if you are prepared to do lots of reading, you will enjoy the experience so much more.

I love reading, though I'll openly admit, Its a little intimidating because I rely on a 3G connection.  Getting that up and running threw a command line is something I've never done.  I'll keep skimming threw the Wiki.  Also, Thank for the info on pacman.
