Thunderbird 5: "import" broken?

That's what i get when i go to Tools -> Import... -> Import Everything

"Next" button doesn't work (enabled but does nothing).

Here's what i get when i choose to import only mail:

How to fix it? The profile is clean.

from what application do you want to import? I have seamonkey there just because i have it installed and i have a profile

From kmail (i didn't like kmail 2).
But it doesn't matter because i can't import *anything*.

I don't see anything relevant in the link you gave (they are even advising to use kmail as intermediate step for importing from unsupported mbox formats), and even if it isn't supported, it has nothing to do with my question
