[solved] conky: problem with japanese fonts

Hey guys, i have a problem with displaying japanese fonts with conky.

I have set my song related part of conky to scroll.

The fonts appear normal when the full alphabet is in the view

But sometimes rectangles with crosses inside appear, and i think this is because only half of the alphabet is in the buffer, at that time. So it doesn't display properly.

Here's my conkyrc:

Does someone have any workaround for that?

I have set it to scroll because i have a small 15" monitor, and otherwise the song related info takes up a lot of space and it'll cover up the dwm status bar too.

Re: [solved] conky: problem with japanese fonts

So, after 2 years I have found the solution for this problem.

http://sourceforge.net/p/conky/bugs/341/

found through our own wiki big_smile

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … characters

Why I couldn't find it earlier was because the entry was made on 15th june 2013 tongue:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?ti … did=262916

Marking this as solved and hope the patch is accepted upstream.
