I am trying (trying, trying, trying) to get an HTPC set up. My goal right now is to get the computer to hibernate and resume so I can save on power and have it turn off when I don't need anything recorded or viewed.
I have gotten to a point where the pc apparently hibernates (Well, it turns off anyway) but pushing the power button (which atm is putting a screwdriver over the jumpers, lol) just boots up normally with a few messages about unclean mounts.
I have upower, acpid, acpi, pm-utils installed. Are these packages what I need? I have also added 'resume=/dev/sda2' to grub and expanded my swap to 4.5GB.
It's been a long night (It's currently 6:32am now...) so any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, lack of sleep. I hadn't added resume to mkinitcpio.conf. I feel like a fool.

Don't feel badly, you did me a good turn! I had the same problem and I knew about adding "resume=" to grub; I did not know about adding resume to mkinitcpio.
So thank you!
