Best Intel half-height 802.11a/g/n miniPCI-E card?

My new laptop comes with a Broadcom miniPCI-E wireless adapter that only does 2,4 GHz N. My previous laptop had an Intel IWL4965, which did 5 GHz as well, but unfortunately I can't swap that one in because it's a full-height miniPCI-E card.

I'd very much like to have a 5 GHz-capable card (2,4 GHz is crowded, and my router does 5 GHz). I have been checking out the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 and the Intel Ultimate N Wifi Link 5300. From what I can tell from the specs they're both 3x3 (my laptop has only two antennas, just like my router), and guessing by the higher number the 6300 seems to be newer, and the spec page pretends it has powersaving features implemented (whereas the 5300 page is mute on that point).

Can someone recommend me either?  Or should I get an Atheros 9xxx card? From what I've seen (and experienced myself, my router has Atheros wireless) ath9k's quality is still in flux.

hi
you should get som Atheros card 9xxx, u can find on ebay in all size range, and with 5GHz. I use to Intel card before, now since 4 yares i use only Atheros, and i very happy, all working fine and without problem. I dont know now about drivers for Intel, because i remember a few yares ago some intel card dosen't work well, anyway, i highly recomend yoy Atheros.

Thanks, I have had good experiences with my IPW2200, IPW3945 and IPW4965 for the past few years, and apparently I can get an Intel Centrino 6200 (2x2) here locally for cheap, so I'll go with that one smile.
