When i start firstime kdenlive, the configuration assistant is opened, and i see the message "MLT's SDL module not found. Please check your MLT install. Kdenlive will not work until this issue is fixed.".

Perhaps you can run ..pacman -S mlt... and it will re-install mlt from community repo or your original download of that package.
Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

Perhaps you also need to re-install kdenlive. If it doesn't fix it , remove kdenlive with pacman -R kdenlive...wait for it to complete and then re-install kdenlive. This will also install a new mlt during that download.

I have resolved the problem downgrading mlt (0.7.4-1.1 => 0.7.2-1.1).
this mirror stores old packages:

I have resolved the problem downgrading mlt (0.7.4-1.1 => 0.7.2-1.1).
Downgrading from 0.7.4? 0.8 is the recent version, 0.7.4 is a downgrade itself, if I may say.

Please update with a stable mirror. Check our frontpage to get to the mirror status and generation pages. Once you are updated to the latest kdenlive (search the package on our site to determine the latest version), check if you have the same errors. If you, please file a bug report.
I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

I realize this may be late, but I have the same problem. MLT is not upgraded to 0.8, 0.7.4 is still the latest (http://www.mltframework.org/twiki/bin/view/MLT/). Thanks to kikoloche for providing a downgrade path, I myself will be waiting for the next update, but if it doesn't work then I hope I can downgrade then.
EDIT: Also I experience crashes in k9copy and Handbrake also, which may be due to the same issue as this.
