Problems with adding a new keyboard layout

Hello,

I've decided to create my own keyboard layout but I have some troubles with putting it on.

I've read many tutorials on how to do this, but none of them satisfy because I always have different paths for files, that shoud be modified or I some files I don't eaven have on my PC.

So l use Gnome 3 and let's assume, that I've correctly edited my "/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/sk" file - I've added my own layout.

Can you, please, give me some advice on what shoud I do next to be able to view my layout in GUI?

Thank you.

Re: Problems with adding a new keyboard layout

Ok, I shoud have checked the Arch Wiki first. I've added my layout to "xorg.lst" and managed to put on my keyboard layout with command:

setxkbmap sk -variant sken

However, one of mine problems still remains. The application for selecting keyboard layouts doesn't list my variant.
