Xorg.cong, s-video to a hd-ready 27" TV

Hi all,

I have set up an alternative xorg.conf to use my hd-ready 27" TV via an s-video plug (nvidia 8800gt)

See below the xorg.conf in use:

The setting doesn't work and an error appear on the screen (see below a link to a screen shot of the error) I have tried several output option without success and all of them result in the outside of the screen to be cut (I have also changed the settings on the TV to change the display I.E. full, cinema, 16/9, etc and nothing change.

Any idea?

Many thanks for your time and assistance,

Re: Xorg.cong, s-video to a hd-ready 27" TV

Trust me, you do *not* want to use s-video. S-video will give you a PAL or NTSC signal, none of which are HD. Use one of VGA/DVI/HDMI and treat the tv as a regular monitor.

Re: Xorg.cong, s-video to a hd-ready 27" TV

Oh yeah I know that, the issue is 99% of the time I do not use the TV, it's during the motogp race (watching online, so better on the tv) the rest of the time the display is on my screens (dual-screens) so basically I do not have a spare VGA...

So I really need to sort it out ...

And the quality is al right  to watch the race online
