[kernel 3.0] Cannot get network to work on my aspire 5520 laptop.

Hello.

I bring back from the dead my old laptop (HDD got a lot of bad sectors), and I decided to install archlinu + testing (like for my main PC).

But, when I enabled testing, both wired and wireless network connexions stopped working.

wireless connexion : ath5k kernel module
wired connexion : nvidia ethernet module, using forcedeth module.

Nothing worked. No more eth0 neither wlan0.

I had to downgrade kernel to get it back to work.

Known problem ?

Re: [kernel 3.0] Cannot get network to work on my aspire 5520 laptop.

I tried to install an archlinux + testing in a qemu-kvm virtual machine. If I install linux 3.0-1, no more network. I have to do a modprobe e1000 to load network kernel module.

After installing linux 3.0-2, I get a Cannot find device "eth0"...

Looks like e1000 was blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_net.conf ?!
