Posix Shared Memory

I couldn't find any good info on POSIX, just some sort of file links on Google..  Is Arch a POSIX compliant?  I have an NVidia, and had issues with ATi, it had to be POSIX Shared Memory enabled, this was a long time ago, when I was running Kubuntu..  Thanks.

No no, I meant does Arch support POSIX?  I was telling a friend about ATi Graphics Card, like I used to have, it requires POSIX Shared Memory to use it.

Re: Posix Shared Memory

Your question is confused.

Linux is roughly POSIX-compliant.

But what you really want, it sounds like, is /dev/shm to be used by the graphics card. As you can see, Linux supports that, so go ahead and set it up. I've never heard of a graphics card wanting it, but my experience is with nvidia.

The only thing I've seen which needs it is the Dark Mod for Doom3.

Yeah, that's all I've wondered..  I know longer use ATi, I'm now using NVidia, due to that POSIX issue..  Anyway, thanks for the answer !!
