[SOLVED]Polipo not working

Trying to setup Tor with Polipo. I followed the guides

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Polipo
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Tor

I can't seem to be able to start polipo as a daemon. It keeps failing, I've looked through the different logs and haven't been able to find anything pertaining to polipo. I am using the config file provided by tor (the one linked to in the webpage).  However if I run

sudo polipo -c /etc/polipo/config

it works I get back

sudo polipo -c /etc/polipo/config
Password:
Established listening socket on port 8118.

Here's a link to an older thread with the same problem.  https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=122034

Edit: I figure it out.  It seems that when I was going through the polipo wiki, at one point it said one should change all the ownerships from polipo files so that unpriviledged user can run and access the logs and run/cache folders. It seems by trying to start polipo not as root first but as user=polipo it created a file in /run/daemons/polipo which was not removed after a failed start. In the /etc/rc.d/polipo file the first check is to see if polipo is already running therefore it always fails. I rm the file from /run/daemons and polipo then started.

Re: [SOLVED]Polipo not working

Well, I guess you're lucky because mine won't start except as root.
Ownership is OK. I have no idea what's going on...
