[SOLVED] kernel messages appear in tty1

I noticed that I get a lot of kernel messages shown in tty1 while boot (for example after starting udev) and shutdown processes. Is that an intended behaviour? Can I change that somehow?

Re: [SOLVED] kernel messages appear in tty1

Add 'quiet' to the kernel boot line.

When you upgraded you got

[2011-07-31 18:35] VERBOSE= in rc.conf no longer has any effect.
[2011-07-31 18:35] Please append 'quiet' to your kernel command line.

in you pacman output, right?

I must have overseen that update. Thanks for the answer, it did the trick!
