Hi everyone,
I (recently) released a gtk3 (and gtk2 + metacity theme) at Gnome-look.org.
The theme is called 'marples-dark', and is a (very hefty) modification of 'marp-1-blue' theme;
The metacity theme, is a mod of another theme that i never released. The big plus of marp and my theme. is that they use many pixmaps. sliders, gtkswitchs, backgrounds all can take advantage of it, and do. This also makes Marples an excellent theme to hack on, and personally stylize. - i have seen a few mods that other users have done already. i've been working on this theme for 2 weeks now, and am averaging about 1200 downloads a week (2400 so far) ~ which is 4 times my views here in the forums, not bad. I'm still tweaking the theme, but it's fairly good as is;
HERE IS THE LINK TO MARPLES-BLACK:

A few notes about the theme;
Most of the widgets, window decoration, etc has been trimmed down to be slim, like most gtk2 themes. i've done a lot of work on prelights and active states for buttons and scrollbars, and i've spent a good amount of time matching up gtk2 to gtk3. You will also notice that i am using a blue that isn't far off from the Arch logo blues, this theme is kinda Arch-centric.
*Marples has partial support for 'window transparency'. gnome-system-monitor has a transparent window, so does gnome-terminal's 'tabs'. The background image is RGBA, so certain windows may exhibit this behavior (gtk3-apps). you will also notice that because of this, not only is there transparency, but the texture from the background also appears ~ in Compiz i have blurry windows enabled, adding the gaussian blur.
here's a couple of screenshots from today;
With this theme, if using compiz ~ you will want to have 'transparent menus', tutorial here;

if you like the theme, you might also want to use my modded gnome-system-monitor, there is information at gnome-look and also some screenshots of it here in the forums;

I should also add to this, by saying...
if you are a gtk3 theme wizard, have a crack at figuring out how to enable rgba window transparency for all gtk3 apps, with this theme. there is native support for rgba in gtk3... and clearly my theme has a couple of examples of it in action. I myself plan to try to figure it out, but i am no master of theming, or css in general. so if you are interested, and figure it out ~ please post your revisions..
i would really love to see all toolbars (add possibly all buttons) have rgba transparency. i think that in particular, transparent toolbars would look absolutely awesome
