I want to install Arch in the most minimal way I can. It will be running on an old laptop as a webserver.
It has been running on the laptop for a while until I had to do a re install.
The list of base packages is pretty long, and I wonder wich I really need for running Apache, Samba, Mysql and VsFTPD.

If you have more than 200 Mb diskspace, don't bother. It are a lot of packages, but most are very small.

Install all the base packages, and choose between lilo and grub.

If you use uDev, you probably don't need DevFS.

Also remove the rp-pppoe if you didn't use adsl. If you didn't use wireless connection stuff maybe you can remove the wireless package too.

Raidtools is also optional and ppp too if you dont have raid or PPP connection.

just install them all... you never know when you need a random dependancy from base... it's just easier... and removing devfs+lilo+rp-pppoe+ppp is going to gain you probably about 300KB...
