I recently switched from Debian to Arch and so far I am very happy with the switch. However a program that I have integrated into various scripts is throwing me errors. I have been searching forums / net for the past two weeks and have come up dry.
Error -->

Audio works fine with all other applications.
I have found a work around but it is not what I want.

espeak "Espeak does not like my new Arch Linux set up" --stdout | aplay

I am running Gnome 3 with pulse audio.
Any thoughts ?
