I don't know how you updated, but I use the catalyst repository, and in the last big update, there was an issue in the order of installing linux 3 and catalyst 11.7 (?), such that the fglrx hook failed. I had to redo building the image, whereupon the hook worked. Did you check for messages as it rebuilt the image?
Sorry if this was obvious, but I am not arch-guts/catalyst savvy.

All I did was simply reinstall catalyst-hook because the modules weren't added to the kernel because catalyst installed before Linux 3.0.

i have same issue with catalyst-total from AUR, reinstalling package didnt help ;_;, for now i have to stick with opensource drivers

The catalyst and catalyst-utils packages were installed with the 3.0 kernel headers without any errors. I don't use any other packages other than catalyst and catalyst-utils.

Did you try using catalyst-hook (or catalyst-daemon)? It will rebuild the module with each kernel update or any other time you run mkinitcpio. Try looking at the wiki. Specifically, the section 1.1.3 Tools.

fglrx has been compiled against my current kernel headers.

I experience the same problem (the module builds and loads just fine).

Anyone make any progress on this? Kind of a blocker for those of us that are really into media, games, etc. ![]()
