Error 15: file not found

Grub gave me:

root (hd0,6)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0X83
kernel /vmlinuz26 foor=/dev/disk/by-uuid/6c827dd2-20f5-4d0e-823b-bd8ed33779a8 ro

Error 15: File not found

fdisk -l gave me:

...
Device  BOOT    ........Id System
/dev/sda1                    1c Hidden W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/sda2      *             7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda3                   83 Linux
dev/sda4                      5 Extended
Partition....boundary
/dev/sda5                    83 Linux
/dev/sda6                    83 Linux
/dev/sda7                    83 Linux
/dev/sda8                    82 Linux swap/Solaris

blkid says that   root is dev/sda6 UUID=6c827dd2-20f5-4d0e-823b-bd8ed33779a8 type=ext4
the drive I set up as boot is dev/sda7 UUID 770ea59c-2038-4d32-867f-da8be07fe210 type=ext4

I failed to mount /dev/sda to get to the grub config file

I can't seem to get into /etc/fstab because permission is denied.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Error 15: file not found

I think you have updated your system and vmlinuz26 is now  vmlinuz-linux etc.  Boot into single user mode (you can edit the kernel line) and then edit the affected files and you should be ok.
