Can I use Slackware tgz (maybe with some tweaks)?

I need Gnucash.

And I cannot find in Arch, but it is in linuxpackage

Can I use Slackware tgz maybe with some tweaks (if anyone has done it with other package before)?

Better to get the source... Make a PKGBUILD if you want, or just do the unzip, ./configure, make, make install thing.

(If you choose the latter method, then be advised that you should keep the build directory - if you want to remove the package, then cd into it and do 'make uninstall'.)

read the wiki pages about makepkg and abs, build it from source and let pacman manage the install

You can try to translate the gnucash.SlackBuild to a PKGBUILD easily.

Be careful, it has some gnome dependencies...

Look at www.gentoo-portage.com and locate gnucash. They give you all the dependencies.

I believe that the gnucash people are still using a version of gtk that causes incompatibilities with arch.  I could be wrong, but that seems familiar.

I try to find the ebuild file but the only hint I had was to run ebuild from within gentoo.

I don't want to install gentoo just to get ebuild file. That's ridiculous. How can I get the ebuild file? There is no ebuild link on gentoo online package database.

Thanks
Jerry

Search for gnucash and ebuild in google. I got this one (maybe there a more recent one): http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:0i … uild&hl=en
