paste from clipboard in chromium not working

any idea why can't paste with mouse middle-click or shift-insert into chromium what I've highlighted prior in xterm ? Only works highlight in chromium paste in xterm. How's this supposed to work?

You could try right-click and Copy/Paste from the context menu maybe. I know I had a problem with Chromium that doesn't happen in Chrome to do with Copy and Paste not working properly, and I think I got around it with the context menu.

@RichAustin , thank you but that was not what I wished for, I had to dump chromium due to no solution and settled for conkeror in which I can paste with shift-insert

A few days late but another option might be using something like parcellite to sync the two clipboards
