[Solved] Preventing Firefox updates

I'm using testing, but this issue goes beyond it, so I'm posting it here

Given the new development mode of firefox, with major releases in a very short time span, I often find myself having a new Firefox version installed (e.g. FF 6), but with some important addons yet not ported to FF's current version. Besides waiting, I'm aware of two solutions for this: either disable FF's extension compatibility checking, or prevent firefox from being updated in pacman.conf. I've tried the former, but the result was unimpressive. I am seriously considering the latter, but would that be an acceptable decision, security-wise? Is there any other course of action?

This extensions works very well for me. I use aurora both on arch (from heftig's repo) and windows and on both all my extensions have kept on working through all releases.

I think I have to use the nightly version of pentadactyl http://code.google.com/p/dactyl/downloa … entadactyl but it works just fine.
