Lock screen on GNOME 3 [solved]

Hello,

Since a few days, I'm not able to lock my screen (ctrl+l, menu > lock-screen, after suspend).

Any idea ?

Yes, it doesn't work.

Screen lock only works when you suspend through GNOME's status menu. If you suspend or hibernate using the power button, your screen is not locked after resume. The problem is a configuration failure in dconf.

For me it is never locked.
Except lock-use-screensaver, all the configurations lock-* are at true. Is it correct ?

gnome-screensaver-command --lock

work from terminal?

No, nothing, no errors messages.
I tried to find something in /var/log about it but nothing appears in everything.log or errors.log.

If you really just want to lock your screen to prevent pranks you could also install xscreensaver (if you don't already have it) and use

xscreensaver-command -lock

DESCRIPTION
gnome-screensaver-command is a tool for controlling an already running instance of gnome-screensaver.

The gnome-screensaver daemon wasn't running and I start it, it works. So I just need to launch it at the system startup.

Strange that gnome-screensaver-command doesn't give any warning / error that there isn't an instance of gnome-screensaver running.
I assumed you had it running, but great that it's solved now!
