I know it sounds like a dumb question but I really need some professional help here.
I have almost finished reading and analyzing the front end part of Pacman source code. So the next step is to tackle libalpm. However I've found it somehow impenetrable and difficult to understand. It's seems much more complex and lower-level than the frontend with lots of compiler/gcc specific optimization. I know C at the level of K&R and kinda of new to reading big/complex programs. I hope that somebody (among the pacman's developers) provide me some tips about what is the best way to tackle libalpm or point me to some reference/book in order to ease up the difficulties of understanding it. Thanks.
