Internet Browsers opens libreoffice randomly.

Hi everyone, i have this weird problem. My main web browser is firefox, and yesterday i decided to try konqueror and midori, but while i use them they open libreoffice randomly. For instance when i hit ctrl+t to open a new tab, midori or konqueror opens the libreoffice start window randomly. I never had this problem with Firefox.

Hehe...I found this post today when I was looking for a solution to exactly the same problem..without any success. So I thought I stop by here and present the solution which worked for me...even though I'm not on arch linux here myself. Maybe it helps you also.

My problem was that I messed up the file associations of my account. Easy to try out if this is the same problem for you. Just create a new user, login and start konqueror there. If libreoffice doesn't start it's probably the same problem I had. To solve it I just removed "~/.local/share/applications" and "~/.local/share/mime" (assuming the directory layout in arch is the same as in gentoo ). But be careful...if I see this right this will remove all file associations you made for this account...maybe it's better to check the content of those directories and only remove the libreoffice relevant files (and of course make a backup). For me it was no real problem as I only had some custom libreoffice associations there (and some old wine associations which I was happy to get rid of by this also).

Deleting those files/folders didn't work...and yesterday i cleared the history in firefox and the libreoffice start page appears...

Same problem here to. No idea what is causing it. Running libreoffice with JRE 7.

Maybe your file associations are wrong system-wide? Try opening a directory with xdg-open

Just tried that and Dolphin opens up as expected. Currently libreoffice starts when I close firefox.

Have you got the latest libreoffice? If not, try upgrading (same for firefox)
What you also should check is if you have any libreoffice plugins for firefox and if so, delete them. see: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions … ce-898540/ for more info

Got the latest libreoffice and latest firefox. I'll try to remove the libreoffice plugin.
