Docking station issue with recognizing usb devices

I haven an HP8540w and my USB mouse is plugged into a docking station which I use when I'm at my desk. When I'm away from my desk, I just take the computer, obviously. I just noticed that when I re-dock, the USB mouse isn't working/recognized anymore. Is there some way I can "reactivate" it? Or is there a kernel option I need to enable for this to be available again after a re-dock? I just use the default arch kernel at present.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Docking station issue with recognizing usb devices

Another month has elapsed. No suggestions at all for this issue? I've got a new update -- if I don't boot up with the computer docked, it also won't pick up the usb devices (mouse and external hard drive) plugged into the dock.
