Gnome 3 fallback mode for users and normal mode for root

Hi

Please help me to fix this problem.

PROBLEM
------------

Root was able to login to gnome 3 but user is logging to fallback mode.

STORY
--------
I had arch with gnome 3 installed in my asus k40ij laptop and everything was working fine until I accidentally   destroyed my MBR and a few windows partitions. I recovered  entire data from arch root partition and copied it back to a newly created partition with and ubuntu live CD.
I managed to make the arch boot able by reinstalling grub.
I was able to login at command line but slim is giving an error like unable to execute login command.
After referring arch wiki and google I changed some permissions and all and was able to login to root with slim and can use gnome 3 but when I tried to user account I am logging into the fall-back mode.

Thanks in advance

In my experience you have to be in the video group to start gnome-shell.
