Re: virtualbox error - Failed to access the USB subsystem

According to a mod over on the virtualbox forums, this is an Arch-specific issue.  Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

Re: virtualbox error - Failed to access the USB subsystem

At root:

# /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv fixusb
# usermod -a -G vboxusers <username>

and relogin or reboot.

Re: virtualbox error - Failed to access the USB subsystem

Didn't work:

# /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv fixusb
usage: /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv {setup}

I'm already in that group:

$ groups facade
lp wheel games video audio optical storage power vboxusers camera users

No, working fine here. There's also this thread from a while ago, might help.

Re: virtualbox error - Failed to access the USB subsystem

Hi,

I was having the exact same issue after removing virtualbox_bin (AUR) and installing virtualbox (community).
It got fixed after adding myself to the vboxusers group.
