Remove a dependencies in the database only

Is there a possibility to remove a dependency in the pacman database? I ask the question because I have installed a package from the AUR (kompozer) that say it depends of gnome-vfs but in reality it does not. Given the fact it takes a long time to compile I do not want to recompile it just for that. Maybe I can edit the database by hand, is it safe?

One can do that, but one should not. No, it is not safe.

Consider installing your package/removing the dependency afterwards without dependency checks (see man pacman).

Re: Remove a dependencies in the database only

In your case, it's 100% safe to edit the database by hand.
