Vim ran through 'sudo' (or as root) does not interpret modelines.

I just realized about this, is there something I have to modify in order for it to interpret them?

May this be a bug?

Re: Vim ran through 'sudo' (or as root) does not interpret modelines.

vim -> :help 'modeline'

'modeline' 'ml'        boolean    (Vim default: on (off for root),
                    Vi default: off
                    local to buffer
