I've been unable to view flash movies on DRM "enabled," sites that intersperse ads into the stream. Mainly I'm dealing with Hulu, but it also happens at Livestream, and I had a problem for about a week at dailyshow.com, but not anymore.
The issue is that the ad that precedes the content will start to play, then the content starts playing behind it before the ad ends (I can hear it but not see it). When the ad ends, either the content, or the ad, or both will continuously re-start, but also keep playing, so that I end up with this echo-ey cacophony of ads and theme songs, and an occasional laugh-track.
I'm running an up-to-date Arch and have tried Firefox, Midori, and Chromium with both the non-free flash as well as gnash (which doesn't work on these sites at all). I've uninstalled all plugins/add-ons and reset all settings, so that I'm not blocking any content, cookies, or whatevers.
For a while (it's been ~3 weeks) I thought it was just me, because there are no posts here and nothing I can find in Google. However, I just decided to dust off my netbook and try it, and am getting the same thing. The netbook is running a fresh, clean install of Elementary, with new installs (no addons ever installed, no preferences altered) of the same 3 browsers mentioned above.
So, is there something wrong with me? Or is our flash broken again?
Also I'm in the U.S. so I'm not running into issues where content is being blocked.
