Running MPD as user

Hello everyone!

I have a history of running into weird, yet easily resolvable problems on my netbook. This time it has to do with logging into Arch as root or my user. Basically, when I log in as root, I have both MPD sound and browser/any-other-program sound working. When I log in as my user, MPD works but somehow locks alsa from other programs. I am sure it's a question of configuring the rights of use of some files correctly, but I don't know which ones exactly. Could someone please give me a hand?

Thanks.

Re: Running MPD as user

I don't seem to have an /etc/asound.conf. If I create it with those lines in it, I can't restart alsa. It says the file is corrupted or old and I should consider removing it..)
