[games][Hon] increase performance

Hi, guys

I just returned to Arch (meh, feelling like returning home) after 3-4 months of using completely various distros

I noticed interesting thing: in all distros (gentoo, deb-based, slack-based) HoN was loading evidently faster then in arch (about 20 sec boot time difference). I googled this thing, but didn't find any forum/blog posts connected with it. So I just started doing strange things with Arch installation, and one of them brough the result, I was looking for.

I deleted package "nvidia" from extra, and downloaded and installed driver from nvidia.com. The load time turned "normal".

Now the question: WTF so special I did?

Was the version you downloaded from nvidia.com the same with the one from the arch repos ?

The PKGBUILD for nvidia doesn't have any magic in it http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/ … ges/nvidia so there shouldn't be a difference - it downloads the driver from nvidia anyway.
