How do I remove the glossy effect from Dolphin?

I don't like it. If the window is not in focus it's all dark and shit, not visible enough. Especially on larger resolutions.

Tried switching (GTK) themes and it doesn't help. Could that be the problem? Using older GTK2 themes with newer KDE libs.

That's entirely determined by your Qt theme.  Change it.

Ok, how? I've been using LXAppearance from LXDE. No DE here, just Openbox.

Use KDE System Settings (command "systemsettings").  I believe it's part of the kdebase-workspace package.  If you don't want to go that route, using qtconfig is the only other option.
