I followed instructions in this wiki link
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fe … ound_image
but it's not working random image. If I run wallpaper.sh from terminal it works ok, but if I add this line in .xinitrc, nothing happens :
/home/user/wallpaper.sh
I don't know If I'm missing something or what is going on.
Thanks

Where did you add it exactly? Post your .xinirtc.

Have you tried https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gn … upon_login ?

You should follow the link karol provided.
Since that's the only thing you have in your .xinitrc, I'm assuming you're launching gnome from gdm, which doesn't use .xinitrc. .xinitrc is only used when running the 'startx' command

Well are you doing "sh /home/user/wallpaper.sh"? I think you have to put the sh infront of it. And after it put a &. So if that is the only line you have:
sh /home/user/wallpaper.sh &
exec exec ck-launch-session gnome-session
or whatever

Ok It worked like a charm. Well it was a misunderstanding problem. gnome-session-properties solved my day.
Thanks for your help Karol and Heleos for explaining why it didn't work.
