Composite makes xfce4 terminal slow. How to disable it?

On the latest version of Xorg, the Composite extension is built in.

[ 15.455] (**) Extension "Composite" is disabled
[ 15.642] (II) composite (RENDER acceleration)
[ 15.669] (II) Initializing built-in extension COMPOSITE

Unfortunately the presence of this extension slows down VTE based terminals. I don't need it, since I don't use a composite manager on my netbook... How can I disable it?

I can only point you to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Composite - are you already using this?
Do you mean that it has been working in the previous versions but doesn't work now? I only know that it's enabled by default.

Yes, it definitely has stopped working. The Composite extension is still being loaded.
