Open source project to learn

Hello,
I have been studying C,C++ and Java and I would like to find an open source project to become better at programming.
Which project would you suggest?

Thank you

And if you have totally no idea which project you may find interesting you may consider looking at the repos from github or some other similar websites.

You know what, I suggest you to learn python and write a command line client for Timekpr, so that it can be administered over ssh:
https://launchpad.net/timekpr
It is on my wish list for long time now.
