urxvt and Solarized (color problem in general)

Hi All,

I have come up against a brick wall trying to use urxvt + vim. I want to configure it to use the solarized theme. The Xresourses file is found here:

https://github.com/altercation/solarize … Xresources

it works just fine in xterm, but the colours are totally messed up in urxvt. I assume this is some 256 color vs 16 color mode problem but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to fix it!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Ben

*****EDIT******

So it appears that it's just the syntax highlighting that doesn't work with urxvt. If I run the :runtime syntax/colortest.vim everything looks just how it should. However, with :syntax on the colors are completely different????

https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=48832 is the author, so maybe he will drop by to answer your question :-)

Edit: Are you using vim's solarized theme?

Re: urxvt and Solarized (color problem in general)

No, I am not using the vim theme, I guess I could try that too. I just thought that given that everything is peachy for xterm rxvt would just work too.. $TERM is set, there is an entry in terminfo... I am fresh out of ideas. I was going to email the author as a last resort smile

Thanks for the help.

Re: urxvt and Solarized (color problem in general)

Hello, another urxvt + Solarized issue: I'm trying to get a transparent background with the solarized colour, and I've tried

URxvt.background: rgba:0000/002b/0036/dddd

in ~/.Xresources. That gives me a dark grey transparent background, as opposed to the dark bluish I think I should be getting. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Manolo
