error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to do a full system upgrade with pacman -Syu. I get the following output:

$ sudo pacman -Syu

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: xfprint: requires heimdal>=1.3.1

I saw the same kind of thing going on in this thread but I couldn't figure out how to apply the fix on my own system. I would appreciate the help both in solving the problem and learning how to fix a similar issue by myself in the future.

thanks in advance! big_smile

-Danny

Re: error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

You haven't updated for a while.  It should be safe to remove the packages which are not in the repos.

Re: error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

xfprint has been dropped to AUR https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=23210
Remove it and try updating again.
