AMD Radeon HD 6630M Compatibility

I would like to purchase a DELL Vostro laptop with `Core i5` and `AMD Radeon HD 6630M`.
I'm not completely sure, but it will probably have the integrated `Intel Graphics HD 3000` card as well.
From your experience / knowledge, will this video card work with Arch (or Linux in general)? Will it _definitely_ be difficult to get working?

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6630M Compatibility

laptops with integrated intel AND an AMD or Nvidia card tend to be a problem for linux.

you will have to use catalyst and amd's vgaswitcharoo (it's called something like that) method to be able to switch between the intel and the radeon card,

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6630M Compatibility

I am with the same problem as you are, currently I can turn off the radeon card with vga_switcheroo, but I can't use this card at all, when I switch to the radeon card and I restart Xorg it says client refuses to switch and my computer freezes so I have to hard reset the computer. I am with the open source driver, anyone knows what can be the problem? Thanks
