Hello, all!
I have no sound in speakers OR headphones.
I've been learning a lot on my switch from Windows to Arch (with a short Ubuntu intermission), however, I am running out of time to get my machine work ready.
I know I can figure anything out on my own, but if someone could help me get this done a bit faster, I would be thankful. Please no hate - if u mad, just dont help okay. I'm trying to figure it out as well while waiting for help!
Please give me some direction if you have the time.
Here is the relevant info I can think of:
Logitec z 5500 speakers 5.1 - I have so far "connected" the subwoof, front left speaker, and front right speaker.
Audio Devices info pasted from DxDiag (before Arch install)
$ amixer
gives me:
[thais@myhost Desktop]$ wgetpaste dxdiagsounddevices.txt
Your paste can be seen here: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/478984/
[thais@myhost Desktop]$ ^C
[thais@myhost Desktop]$ amixer

A couple of questions and points in no particular order:
Are you using pulseaudio? If so install pavucontrol, it'll help setting things up.
Have you run
alsamixer
in a terminal yet? If not do so and turn everything up. If you are using pulseaudio you'll need to run
alsamixer -c 0
aplay -L
gives more useful information than just amixer.
Cheers
You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me.
